His Son
|
|
Once upon a time in the jumbles lived a man and his pretty baby
son. One day he went outside to get some water. A big snake crawled
into the house. Since the father never knew what vicious animal he
would find outside, he always took his shotgun with him. When he
returned to his horror, he saw the snake in the crib with his baby
son. He slowly put the water down, un-slung his gun, took a careful
aim, and fired! In his excitement he did not remember that the
bullet might be as harmful to his son as to the snake. He was
shocked, embarrassed and inconsolable when he saw the blood of his
son mixed with that of the dead snake. Fortunately the son lived,
but never forgave the father for trying to kill the snake. |
